Dr. Chippior had a passion for eye care since high school and has worked in a number of eye care settings as a university student in the Ottawa Valley and in Waterloo, ON. Dr. Brandon Stephens graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry on the Dean’s Honours List after also completing an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. During his final year of training, Dr. Stephens completed an externship focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease at an ophthalmic surgical centre in Mobile, Alabama alongside cataract, glaucoma, oculoplastic and vitreo-retinal specialists. During her externship year, she worked at the Veterans’ Affairs Medical Centre in Lexington, Kentucky, managing diabetes, glaucoma, pre- and post-operative cataract procedures and macular degeneration. Dr. Alex Yowakim graduated with Dean’s Honours from the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of Waterloo. He received early acceptance into the program after only three years in undergraduate Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa, where he was awarded the Dean’s Award of Excellence. As part of her training, she completed several externships, including one in Pinellas Park, Florida, where she worked with retinal, cataract, and oculoplastic specialists. Dr. Jeffrey Lam was born and raised in Kingston, Ontario. He received both his BSc specializing in X-ray Technology in 2009 and his BSc (Hons) specializing in Life Science in 2010 from Queen’s University. While working as an X-ray Technologist at Kingston General Hospital, Hotel Dieu Hospital, and St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital for 5 years, he has experience within emergency, surgical, rehabilitation and palliative care units.
