Dr. Abhi Vengadeswaran received her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo following the completion of her BSc at the University of Ottawa. During her education, Abhi worked with many optometrists in Ottawa and completed honours research in the treatment of genetic blindness at the Ottawa Hospital Eye Institute. For her externship year, she completed an ocular disease rotation in Dauphin, MB, diagnosing and managing trauma, cataract, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy in rural communities. She then trained in a primary care setting in Oakville, ON. She also participated in volunteer vision care programs at the Special Olympics Youth Games in Toronto as well as a mission eye care trip to Montego Bay and Savanna-la-mar, Jamaica.

Originally from Ottawa, Abhi has relocated to Kingston in summer 2021. She is passionate about patient-centered communication to provide excellent eye care to patients of all ages, with a special interest in myopia control for young patients. She is happy to provide service in English, French or Tamil. In her free time, Abhi enjoys reading, yoga, music and spending time in nature.

Please be aware that if you normally have OHIP coverage, ODSP coverage or OW coverage for your eye exams, we are unable to schedule an appointment for you at this time due to the current Ontario Association of Optometrists job action. You can help by visiting saveeyecare.ca which will let the Government of Ontario know that eye care is important to you and your family.

Our hours of operation have changed as we are currently seeing patients by appointment only for ALL visits (including glasses adjustments, etc). Please contact our office to book an appointment as needed.

We are continuing to follow health and safety guidelines as set out by the College of Optometrists of Ontario and the Government of Ontario.
